Having completed a Bachelor's degree in Communication with a specialization in Film Production, my experience spans across a variety of roles within live-action and animation, Fiction and Non Fiction productions, in Mexico, Canada and Spain.
My interest in multiculturalism has facilitated my work in diverse international settings, fostering a deep appreciation for collaborative environments beyond Mexico's borders.
Passionate about the entire spectrum of audiovisual content creation, from the genesis of scriptwriting to the final product on screen, I've written some short films. One of which received awards in Mexico, as well as in the United States, Canada, and Italy.
Presently, I am engrossed in writing and developing my debut feature film, harboring hopes of eventually stepping into the director's role.
While writing remains a profound passion and directing a cherished ambition, my expertise extends to adeptly coordinating production teams in Film, Animation and TV.
Recently added to my education a Master's in Production and Direction in Radio and Television in Madrid. This journey aligns with my aspiration to delve into new realms of storytelling, always seeking to contribute to exceptional teams dedicated to crafting captivating narratives in innovative ways.

After graduating from the Master in Production and Direction in Radio and Television, and through the Francisco de Vitoria University, I got the opportunity to work at Trece TV, as a Production Coordinator. Where together with my Production colleagues, we manage the necessary elements to produce the "Ecclesia al Día" program... Always trying to complete a schedule in a timely manner, and providing our editors, technical team and filmmakers with any element or resource they may need.

I worked as Production Coordinator for the first season of the animated series "Rosie's Rules". In this project, I was responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of the animation pipeline, providing supervisors of each department with any tools, assets, or information they needed to meet our production schedule and deliver a quality product to our clients and Creatives, with whom I used to share material to get their feedback. Additionally, I served as an Assets Administrator and Cultural Consultant on matters relevant to Mexico or the Spanish language.

I started by organizing and maintaining the Props department, dedicating myself to becoming familiar with the complete inventory until mastering it. When the time came, I provided thorough and dedicated attention to each client in search of their required items, based on their breakdowns. Due to my excellent work, I was soon promoted to Props Administrator and in charge of our client accounts. It was an extremely interesting, entertaining, and enjoyable job where I also managed to get a foothold in the film industry in Canada.
During my stay in Toronto, Canada, from 2019 to 2022, I formed friendships with the Producers and other filmmakers at Bandit Territory Productions. It all began after working as a First Assistant Director, and from then on, I dedicated every moment I could to participate in every project possible with them. These projects included a Feature Film, Two Short Films, and a Web Series. I enjoyed working with this team so much that I spent my afternoons and weekends there, taking on roles such as First Assistant Director, Supporting Actor, Set Builder and Decorator, Props Creator, and Production Assistant.

I began this new stage on October 18th, 2023. I am very pleased with the high-level subjects and professors, all professionals in the Radio and Television industry. It is exciting to explore my creativity and curiosity in current affairs, political, social, and cultural topics in two media that are so immediate and relevant, Radio and Television. Moreover, it is a practical master's program almost entirely, allowing me to be firsthand inside the studios and control rooms, using various technical equipment and control panels in live simulations.

I have always been interested in acting and film, but I had to pursue a Bachelor's degree, so I chose the one that was closest to the film industry. This was the Bachelor's degree in Communication, which allowed me to specialize in Film Production. I must admit it was the best choice. I was a very passionate and dedicated student in all subjects and in the various media we explored. I was an active member of the Student Society in Communication and graduated with my head held high and much joy, with a short film that I wrote and produced with my classmates, and that was awarded in multiple festivals inside and outside of Mexico.

Despite my passion for writing and my aspiration towards directing, I have had the opportunity to take on a variety of roles in Development, Pre-production, and Production of various projects. Each of them has brought me valuable experiences, joys, and friendships, but above all, invaluable learnings and tools that I have acquired along the way. I am not in a rush, but I know where my north star is, and I move forward with confidence, gathering a plethora of adventures along the journey.

I consider myself a highly committed individual to my ongoing projects, a trait that colleagues have confirmed. I prefer to see challenges as situations to decipher rather than problems in a production. I particularly enjoy creating production formats and documents, as well as diagrams and conceptual art, everything must be 100% detailed for impeccable execution. In leadership or coordination roles, my focus lies in treating the group as a cohesive unit, also valuing the contribution of each individual as a fundamental part. Outside of work, I find pleasure in painting with acrylics, writing scripts, creating conceptual art, cooking, watching movies or series, and whenever the opportunity arises, enjoying the experience of horseback riding. Moreover, I love learing new things, finding it to be a beautiful challenge to acquire new software, skills, and ways of working if it means improving and growing both personally and professionally.

"Upon my introduction to the “Rosie’s Rules” production, Joaquín Casillas had been working in the Production Coordinator role since early October 2020. I found Joaquín was deeply immersed into the production´s logistics, and he was extremely helpful guiding myself and every new production crew member through the various current processes, files, schedules, and assets. He was also very adaptable to every change that needed to be implemented. Joaquin was a tremendous help in the creation and organization of our assets, often with little guidance. He is a self-starter and starts every day with a smile. When tasked with new or different tasks such as elaborating production templates, coordinating our collaboration with clients, coordinating revisions, providing cultural references, or editing “As Produced Scripts” for delivery, he approached everything with a “can-do” attitude.
